All the dorms are full. That's just wonderful.

Gabe walked through the hall with dorm numbers. "Crap..." he muttered.

Violet opened the door to her dorm as Gabe was passing by, and, not noticing his presence, stepped out of the room and bumped right into him. "Oh! I-I'm so sorry," Violet said frantically, covering her face out of embarrassment and shrinking about three inches.

Gabe stumbled a bit, but smiled. "It fine." he said, rubbing the back of neck. "I'm Gabe."

"V-violet," she murmured quietly, not making eye contact with Gabe.

"Not the social type, are you?" he asked.

"No.." Violet murmured, still looking at the ground.

"Why not? I figured a pretty girl like you would have plenty of friends." he said casually.

Violet blushed a little bit and stared at her shoes. Is he being sincere or is he making fun of me? she thought. "I, um... I'm not very good at meeting new people," she murmured quietly.

"How come? We -well,I- won't kill you." he said.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Violet asked looking at Gabe curiously.

"No! I'm sorry if it sounded that sounded mean!" he apoligized.

"No, I-I didn't mean to imply that you were mean. It's just, you said 'we' first and then stopped yourself," Violet frantically explained.

"Well, I'm not mean, but I don't really know people here..." he said. "I can't really judge them if I don't know them."

"Oh, t-that makes sense," Violet looked down at the ground and shuffled her feet.

"So, Violet. You're powers shrinking?" he said.

"Oh! uh, y-yeah. I, um, guess you noticed earlier," Violet tugged at the end of her shirt nervously.
