Hallways Are Fun! :D

An unfamiliar boy walked through the hallways, looking around, notebook tucked underneath one arm. He couldn't wait to finally use it. Before he got here, his parents had to buy him 5 new notebooks, what with all he wrote about. This one, he decided would be about students, and he was almost certain he was going to bump into someone sooner or later. "Very stable," he mused, his palm following behind him, grazing the walls of the hallway. "No sign of deterioration." He pulled out a small notepad from a pocket and began jotting down stuff.

Then he tucked it back in his pocket, continuing to look around for his dorm.

Reed had come to the school, and was walking down the hall. She'd been there a while, and still hadn't found her dorm. Being a late comer sucked. While she walked, she came across a boy, who appeared to be talking to himself. She walked up cautiously.

"Hey." She said, giving him s sweet smile.

He didn't look up immediately. He managed to get the last bits of his notes together before finally looking up. Kody's mind fluttered with information. He stared at her for a long moment before saying in two long sentences that crammed together, "Hello, Reed Murray, age 14 with the sibling of Randy Murray. My name is Kody Rider, age 15, and it is a pleasure to meet you." He stared at her blankly and looked down at his other journal and began writing some more.

Reed looked on with a very startled look. This kid was creepy, and older than her. "Uhh, hi Kody. Yeah, my name is Reed. But it would be nice if you could give me time to tell you that." She settled down from the surprise. But the last part she tried to say kindly, although it came out somewhat angry. Her eyes turned somewhat red, but she realized this and forced them back.

Kody began writing down a bit more stuff after she began talking. "My apologies," he said, eyes still trained on his journal. He looked up. "Very well, then. Let us revise the matter. I shall greet you with a casual hand shake," he said, holding out a palm. "My name is Kody Rider. And you are?"

Reed ignored this gesture. "It's already too late." She said, with a small smile. "But it's nice to meet you."

"I see," he said, taking his hand back somewhat disappointedly. "Do you mind if I ask you what dormitory you reside in?" he wondered, looking around at the hallway.

Reed looked down. "Uhh, I actually can't find it." She said, rubbing the back of her neck. She had set her stuff down somewhere, she didn't want to carry it around. She would pick it up again when she found her dorm.

Kody gave a nod as he listened intently. He pushed his glasses farther up his nose. "I offer my assistance to you, Reed. I shall help you locate your dormitory. My dormitory is number (whatever Ebs assigns for Kody v_v), by the way," he said, beginning to walk. As he did, he began scrabbling at his journal some more.

Reed nodded. "Alright." She said a bit hesitantly. She followed him though.

"So you don't know your dormitory number? Well, that's acceptable, I suppose. At least I know the dormitories number 1 through 6 are taken. They are all full, which excludes dormitories 7 through 11," he explained to her, adding that to his notebook. Why is her power so.... Hmph... Why isn't it identifying itself to me? "In time," he said underneath his breath.

Reed nodded. "Alright, that narrows it down. Which ones already have two girls? I heard that it has two girls and two guys. I'd be in one that has only one girl." She added this in case it would be helpful. Suddenly, her hair began changing color. Her roots turned a golden-blonde, similar to Kody's. Reed instantly halted this before it got to far. Her power was just out of her control in some situations.

Kody kept walking, thinking. "Well, I'm not quite certain. I'm fairly new to Beata Academy. Now--" He stopped, knowing that she had as well. "Is something the matter?" he asked, turning on a heel. Kody's eyes widened as his eyes adjusted to her new hair color. "A- Amazing!" he whispered to himself. Whipping out his journal again, he began writing, glancing up, then writing some more. "Reed is enabled to change the color of her hair by what I have witnessed so far," he said, echoing the words on the paper as he wrote them down. He then looked back up and stared, mystified. "Do it again!" he commanded, eyes widening with interest.

Reed was shocked. This boy was demanding she willingly change her hair color. And, he even wrote down what had happened. Her hair turned a fiery orange, and her eyes a raging red. He'd really gotten to her. "How dare you!" She said, her volume rising. She suddenly realized what she'd done. One, she'd done what he'd asked. Two, she had no reason to get mad. It was her ability, and she was to be proud of it, not ashamed. "Sorry, that was unnecessary. Although, why do you write this down?" She asked curiously. Her hair cooled down to its normal golden-orange and her eyes went back to minty green.

Kody began writing down quickly, very fascinated by what she was doing. He made sure to get every detail of her doings down into his notebook. After a long time had passed, he looked back up, smiling big. "Oh, it's what I was born into this world to do, Reed," he said, checking his journal to make sure he had gotten everything down. "My power is understanding everything about a person or animal I see. Writing down logs of people I meet and things around me enables me to better understand my power and strengthen it. So, in return for my note-taking, I must thank you for these miraculous, and fascinating notes," he said, smiling. He hugged his journal and looked at it, smiling at the notes he had taken.

Reed sighed, and put her face in her hand (facepalm). "Well, uh, you're welcome." She replied, trying not to sound sarcastic.

Kody gave a laugh about her retort. "Let us resume our original activity, shall we?" he turned slowly, giving one last glance in case she began changing again, and started walking. "So, you explained to me that you'd be in the dormitory that has only one female, correct? That means your dormitory might be number 9," he said, halting right in front of the door and turned on a heel to face it.

Reed looked at the dorm. "That might be it." She said. She wasn't entirely sure. "Will there be something somewhere that tells me which dorm I'm in?" That would be the simple and easy way to do it.

"Not really," he inquired. "But just keep in mind that the dormitories are in numerical order starting from 1 which is over..." He turned to point to the entrance. "...there!"

Reed sighed, once again. "No, I meant, is there a paper somewhere that will tell me which dorm I was placed in?" She asked. She wasn't very clear herself, so it was her fault.

Kody rolled his eyes and flipped a page in his journal. He scrabbled some stuff down and tore out the page and handed it to Reed. Mockingly, it said:
