practicing practicing

Violet was out on the soccer field practicing her boomerang throwing and so far, she sucked at it. She could never get it to come back to her, it just flew straight. And when she was trying to go straight, it would never go in the direction she wanted it to. She had the most terrible aim. I must be throwing it wrong, she thought in dismay.

rose walked out with her soccer ball, when she saw Violet trying to throw her boomerang "hey" she said.

Violet was staring at her boomerang, trying to figure it out, when she heard Rose greet her. "Oh! um, h-hello," she murmured.

"having fun, with your stick?" she asked not knowing what it was.

"Um, well," Violet glanced down at the boomerang in her hands. "No, not really."

"how have you tried holding it?" she asked.

"Um, well, I never really thought about how I held it," she said quietly, looking down at the boomerang.
