Inside or Outside... Choices, Choices

The day was drawing to a close, and this meant it was dinner time. A girl with black hair collected her food and faced the room, her green eyes scanning the tables, searching for a suitable seat. She swept her gaze twice before deciding that there was nobody she could sit next to who wouldn't find her weird for approaching them out of nowhere.

Finally, she realized she needed to move out of peoples' way, so she inched towards the door that led back into the corridors of the school. Hopefully, nobody would notice she was sneaking her food out.

Alexi was headed to dinner, hoping to get in and out quickly without running into anyone. Sadly, that was never true at this school. He nearly ran into her, but saw her just in time, he halted directly in front of the girl, and sidestepped.

"S-sorry." He muttered, his eyes down.

Mae nearly jumped when the boy apologized. She moved over so he could pass.
"It's fine," she replied simply. She could feel her cheeks starting to redden, even though he did not seem to know what she was doing.

Al went to continue into the cafeteria, when he noticed the girl had food, and was heading out of the cafeteria. He put two and two together and got four.

"Eh, are you allowed f-food out of the c-cafeteria." He asked, looking back. He knew you weren't but he was just asking. He forced himself to look at her, and even into her eyes. He'd been attempting to teach himself to look sincere when talking to others.

Mae felt her face flush, and she glanced down at her tray, her eyes growing wide as if realizing what she was doing.
"Ah, no," she answered. "And I was definitely not leaving. I was just, uh, waiting for a friend." She could feel the heat rolling off her face, but she looked into Alexi's eyes, trying to prove she wasn't lying.

"Not exactly," answered a feminine voice (before Mae responded D:<<) A girl leaned against the wall with a slight glare; a scowl.
"Are you so hungry that you can't enjoy the food in the cafeteria?" She shook her head. "Shame," she tsked, and stepped from the shadows. It was Pine. omigosh!autographs!;u;

Mae froze when she heard what the other girl was saying. Stay calm, she repeated to herself in her head. A panic attack would trigger her ability.
"I think if I was really hungry, I wouldn't even bother leaving the line before eating," she replied coolly, trying to appear more relaxed than she felt.

Alexi was so surprised by the sudden appearance of the other girl, another boy appeared. He was blonde, so he was younger than six.

"Ack." Al cringed when he did that. It was kind of embarrassing. He couldn't even think of anything he could contribute to the conversation, but he didn't leave out of kindness.
