It was a typical rainy day. The kind that just made you want to sit on the back porch and read a really thick book... All day long. But seeing as there were no back porches on the dorms of the Beata Academy, you just had to deal with the next best thing. The Library. Now, if you've ever tried walking down a hall & reading at the same time, you'll notice how incredibly impossible it is to not run into someone while doing this. Yet, Aislinn was doing it anyways, cause she really didn't want to put her book down. It was the perfect book, about a strong female role, and a pitful boy who needed saving. Like Rapunzel or Sleeping Beauty with the roles swapped. Aislinn loved those kinds of books, where for once the girl wasn't some dumb bitch waiting to be rescued while making her hair look completely perfect, and keeping her waist so slim it almost didn't exist. Aislinn ran smack into someone as hard as a brick wall, dropping her book and falling backwards.

Not surprisingly since he usually walked up and down the halls along with the entire school campus, it was Sean that Aislinn had run into. He was once again day dreaming, mainly thinking about where he could gather inspiration. He was always looking for something new to paint, yet everything was kind of getting to be the same here. As Aislinn fell backwards, Sean did too. He fell right on his rear end as some paint brushes that had been neatly tucked away scattered across the floor. Looking up to try to figure out what happened, he looked up to see the red-headed girl. "Oh, I am so sorry!" He apologized. "I should have been paying attention to where I was going."

Blushing profusely, Aislinn helped him gather his scattered paint brushes. "No, no really, it's my fault. I need to stop reading & walking at the same time." She giggled, rubbing the back of her head. Her golden eyes studied Sean a minute, pausing on his cheek, where a streak of perfect blue paint was smeared. "So, are you an artist?" The girl asked, handing him the lost brushes she'd gathered.

He quickly and kindly took back his brushes before packing them back in their pocket in the bag, ignoring the blot of paint that was smeared on his face. "Oh, yeah, you could say that," he told her as a little bit of pink color appeared in his cheeks. "Although I haven't really been able to think of anything to paint recently." It then hit him that he hadn't introduced himself. "Oh, I'm Sean by the way."

Aislinn smiled at him, politely. She stood up and extended her hand. "Aislinn Jay Tucker. Or AJ, if you want." Her golden eyes glowed as she said her nickname proudly. It was dubbed by her father. "Not to be rude, but what's your gift Sean?" Aislinn asked, a faint dimple protruding in her left cheek when she smiled.

Sean jumped to his feet and shook her hand happily, but on contact, his eyes suddenly clouded over as he stared into space. It only lasted a few seconds before his vision cleared and he was smiling at AJ once more. "Psychometry," he replied. "Long story short, my power allows me to see the reason as to why someone is feeling a certain emotion, such as how proud you feel of your father's nickname for you. It is a cool name."

Aislinn jumped back, and stuck herself to the wall. "No no no no. Ge- get out of my head!" She squeeled, pushing her mental barrier so far that a small purple-ly forcefield appeared infront of her, but it was gone in a few seconds.

Sean's eyes widened as he took a few steps backwards, terrified of how he had scared AJ. "I-I am so sorry!" He cried. "I didn't mean to make you upset! Just, people usually don't get how my ability works..." he then started smacking his own forehead with the palm of his hand. "Stupid, stupid, stupid!" He muttered to himself, his cheeks blazing red from the embarrassment of the scene he had created.

Aislinn crumpled to the ground, wrapping her legs to her chest, shoving her face towards her knees. "I- it's okay. Ju- just ..... Just gi- give me a... A minute." She finally said, breathing deeply.

"No its not okay!" He told her, furious at himself for making her upset. "I am so sorry.. I-I swear I wont ever do it again..." he then backed up against the wall and slid down until he was sitting down again, his bag lying on the ground next to him.

After a few long moments, she let her legs go, and inched forward towards Sean, crossing her legs. "It okay, I'm just sensitive about people being in my head. I project force fields, and right now I can only do mental ones strong enough to keep anything out."

Sean was trying to keep from beating himself up mentally when AJ crept over to him. He looked up at her and smiled slightly. "That's actually really cool. It will definitely help when you can learn to use it better. My power on the other hand..." he sighed. "Obviously it just makes me some kind of creeper."

Aislinn snorted. "Hahah, it's not creepy. It's cool. I just... I'm just weird like that." She said, smiling slightly.

"No, I wouldn't say that you're weird. You're rather normal, actually." His eyes suddenly widened as he realized that could possibly be taken the wrong way. "N-Not that you're not normal now, just... you liking your own mental privacy is just a normal occurrence!" He quickly fixed, throwing his hand behind his head and scratching his neck sheepishly. "In other words, I understand that."

Aislinn smiled, and punched him playfully on the arm. "Don't be so hard on yourself. I know what you mean." She said, relaxing her legs, & crossing them. "Besides, I don't want to be normal. That's why I'm here, right?"

He shrugged. "Yeah, I guess so. I guess being normal is a little overrated," he told her as he thought back to the first day he was here. It was nicer being surrounded by people that weren't weirder out by him, even if he didn't have many friends.
