Getting Acquaintanced

Carter sat on one of the couchs in the living area, reading a book on his favorite subject; his power. Or, at least the chapter was on it. It was hard to find a book just on his ability, Physic Weapons, and he was fairly certain he had read them all. He looked up to look around the dorm. He had settled his things in his room only yesterday, and now with that task done, he had some free time. Which meant reading. I wonder where my roommates are... I haven't seen anybody all day. He contemplated, slightly hoping that he had the dorm to himself- oh, that would rock.

That's when Lynn pushed the door open, making it slam. She looked absolutely exhausted. Not even bothering to shut the door by herself, she waddled over and plopped down on the bed face first, dropping a bag of all of her stuff. She had just been invited to the Academy, and unlike most students had to travel a long way. She turned her head and caught a glimpse of her roommate.
"Oh. Hello." she said, not so happily. Sharing a room with a person wouldn't be fun at all.

"Uh... Hi." Carter greeted, surprised by the, well, surprise entrance. So he would have to share. This thought slightly upseted him, but he kept careful not to show it. "I'm Carter, and you are?" He asked, curious to know who he would have to share with.

"Lynn." she answered. "When did you get here?" she asked, not moving from her spot on the bed. She just hoped that no more people would come.

"Yesterday. So I'm guessing you are my roommate?" He asked, raising an eyebrow, gently closing the book and setting it on the floor before crossing his arms.

Lynn yawned. "Yupp. Have you seen anyone else?" she questioned, sitting up. She wasn't very interested in the conversation, just wanting to squeeze some answers out of the kid. But she could pretend.

Carter shook his head, frowning. "I haven't seen anyone. You and I may end up being the only ones here, it seems. But there's still time to get here..." He answered, shrugging and looking at the door, wondering if anyone else would join them soon.

It was then when the door softly clicked open as the handle turned. When the door slid open, Sarah carefully poked her head in to look around the room. When she realized that there were already two of her three roommates inside, her gaze dropped to the floor. "Oh, sorry," She said, almost in a whisper. "Are.. Are you two living in here too?"

Two girls?! I don't want to be the only guy here... How embarrassing. Carter thought as the girl poked her head in. "No problem." He mumbled, waving his hand in dismissal. "Yeah, I'm Carter and this is Lynn." He said tilting his head at the older girl whenever he mentioned her.

"Careful there, boy. They might see your cheeks turning red." The other man of dorm one walked in next, his hands in his pockets and a small smile on his face. He had caught Carter's flustered embarrassment. "Carter. Lynn. Nice to meet you both, I'm Nathaniel." He paused, looking at the young woman who had walked in before him. Suddenly, his little smile had grown a little bigger. "And what your name be?"

Lynn frowned with the increasing amount of people, but quickly covered it up again with a fake smile, not realizing Nathaniel's power to read emotions. "Hey there. It's nice to meet all of you."

Not really. Just get the introductions over so I can sleep. she thought to herself drowsily.

Carter actually blushed a little. He look down, hair covering his face, along with the hood of his hat. "Well hello there sir." He mumbled under his breath.

Sarah stared at Nathaniel with wide eyes as he turned all of his attention on her. After blinking a few times to try to get her mind straight, her gaze immediately dropped to the floor once more as a small grin appeared on her lips. It was strange being acknowledged so suddenly by someone who seemed to appear way above her level. "I'm... I'm Sarah," She stuttered softly.

Nathaniel smiled and nodded softly to Lynn and looked in amusement at Carter, in fact, he laughed a little silently. 'You're alright.' He thought to Carter, crossing his arms and turning his attention back to Sarah. A slight grin appeared on his face and he bowed his head to her slightly. "A pleasure to meet you Sarah." He set his hand on her shoulder lightly for a moment and then walked away from the entrance, locating his bed and nearly making a dive for it.
