You take a deep breath and walk through the doors, it's the morning of your very first day. |D

Alice looked up at the entrance to the large school, curiosity in her eyes. This place seemed extremely large, even for a school. Then again, she suppose it was an academy, and held dorms and such, for living purposes. That right there would add a lot of space. But what interested her, was the fact that this place use to be a mansion- can you believe that? A mansion. This man- this headmaster, had turned it into an academy for those with powers, like herself. That reminded her- there would be other people at this school that would have powers as well. Maybe somebody had hers, and they could work together! fat chance of that happening. xD
She looked down at her single dark blue suitcase and back over at the entrance, thinking for a moment. Now, how would she find the dorm? Was there a map somewhere that showed her around this maze of a place that it seemed to be? She surely wouldn't ask someone to help her around. No, she couldn't even bother someone like that. Make them take time out of their busy day of academy life to give her a tour? (Little did she know, that everybody has free time here. )
No, she wouldn't do that.
Ali turned to her suitcase and grasped the handle, looking around before she started walking forward, towards the single black door that lead inside.

The entrance was where the newest students formally arrived, on the rare occasions that they did, but most of the time it was nothing more than a simple park. A second courtyard really, only this one had a water fountain. fuckyea. There were rather a good amount of people out, the summer heat deciding to give the area a break, it was a rather nice day; one to be enjoyed. And so, by this boy at least, it was.
Nathaniel finished his wish and flipped the copper penny into the water, just hoping that no one would dive in after it later on, thus rendering the whole thing pointless. (Why they would when money was absolutely worthless in a place like this, he didn't know, but... People were stupid, kay?) Looking a little satisfied, he decided to walk back inside the building, maybe go and sit under his favorite tree. It was really about then he noticed Alice, her strange snow-white hair first, then the large suitcase at her side. Nate smiled. A new person?
Hm~ Well, he did have some time on his hands, and did have some experience showing the newbies around? Maybe he should introduce himself and help this girl out a bit, just because he was a nice guy like that. c: Ahem. "Hey, you look a little lost." Nathaniel walked up to her, a friendly look on his face. He had caught her staring at the school the few moments ago. I mean, it'd be kinda hard to get lost when there was only one way to go from the entrance, but shut up and don't question his mighty logic. D; "You must be new around here." Obviously.

I will find out what he wished for. >:U

Ali hadn't really noticed the nice weather, with more pressing things on her mind. Like, where the heck she had to go! Did she need to sign in or something? Maybe see the headmaster? No, not the last one. He was probably to busy to talk to her. And whenever she did finally get settled, what were the classes like here? There had to be some special ones, with this being a school for those with special abilities. If only she knew.
She looked over at the water fountain, just thinking about how pretty it was. She noticed an auburn haired boy tossing a coin into the clear water and wonder for a second about what he wished for. Or about what his power was. What a great conversation topic! Never before could she ask someone, 'So, what's your power?' as casually as she would ask them what their hobbies were. Not that she would be the one to start conversations here, but still. It was nice to know that was an option.
So lost in her wandering thoughts, Alice jumped at the sound of someone speaking, and she looked around until her eyes found the auburn coin-tosser. Who happened to be looking at her. So she assumed he was talking to her. She blushed slightly whenever he walked over to her, and her gaze dropped to her feet. "Wha? No, no. Not at all!" Her eyes widened and she immediately looked up, startled. "Just, I'm totally not lost." She disagreed lightly, in a very Tohru-esque way. Was he offering to help her? Or was she thinking he was, and now making him think he had to do so? Or was she just over-thinking altogether? I'd go with the latter, but she wasn't sure.

She bit her lip and smiled nervously, before murmuring, "Yeah." Obviously.

Nate smiled a little when he saw her jump, stuffing his hands casually into his pockets, another shy girl? - or maybe she wasn't just good at playing the newcomer. Yes, he was looking at her. Talking to her as well, and no, she wasn't forcing him. This was just him being a gentlemen. |3 That all set aside, it was pretty clear from the amused look on his face that he really didn't believe her all too much. "Uh-huh." The young man mused quietly, "Where were you going, then?" He took a few steps around until he stood in front of her, just to get a better look. She was very small and innocent looking, angelic almost, and very pretty. He didn't want to make it look as if he were staring, as he couldn't imagine having the first person you meet give the impression of being a creeper. Or a pedobear. Nope, she was way too young. He'd still be nice and help her out, though.

He stood back up straight and shrugged, as if she didn't have to answer that question if she didn't want too. "As long as you have your invitation with your dorm number and everything, you should be able to settle in on your own." Nathaniel advised her, his voice light. When the newer kids arrived, their questions were usually always the same. "If you'd like, I could show you around. Or at least how you to your room."

Damn straight. |C Nate logic is the best logic. /shot.

So... Nate's the princely type? Alice looked away with pink cheeks at his amused look. Yeah, Alice knew she wasn't that good of a liar, but it was worth a shot. D; She blinked at his question, surprised. Ali tilted her head to the side to see the door he now stood in front of. "Well, I was planning on going through that door." She answered, raising an eyebrow, rather smug that she could actually answer him on where she was going. Of course, in a moment that feeling faded and she bit her lip. "After that, I could probably find my dorm..." She mused, uncertainty crossing her features.
She didn't notice him looking at her, and certainly didn't think he was a pedophile. cx
Alice nodded slowly, before patting her pockets in search of something. Unsatisfied, she crouched down by her suitcase, unzipped a random pocket and rummaged around until she found the folded invitation. "Here." She said perkily. At his proposal, Ali's eyes widened. "No, I don't want to be a bother." She stammered.

Nathaniel scoffed, well obviously you had to go through the doors. and of course he realized that. "Really?" He questioned, easily picking up on the uneasiness in her answer, which only seemed to be growing stronger as she kept on going. Quietly, he watched her rummage around for her school invitation, staring it down as she held it up triumphantly. Was he supposed to take it, or - ...? "Go skim down to the bottom of the page. It should say somewhere around there your number." Nate smiled and waved his hand around, as if passing on taking it for her.
The young man's grin smirk softened a little, "I have nothing to do right now, It's alright." He tried to reassure her, hoping she might change her mind. "Don't worry about it."

Alice nodded quickly and jerkily, Other than that, she didn't really trust herself to argue. She was such a bad liar, that even one word replies had a false note. Even her nod was a bit off. In all honesty, she didn't know what to do with the invitation. Ali doubted that giving it to Nate was the answer, but she at least wanted him to see her catch. |D Following the auburn's instructions, the girl peered at the bottom of the page and read off the number of her dorm, printed in bold. "It says dorm 4." She repeated from the letter, looking back up to see his hand motion, realizing that he thought she was offering it to him. Well, she could have been. She blushed a bit and folded the paper before stuffing it in the pocket of her jeans.
"Well, if you're sure it's alright..." She began uncertainly, absentmindedly running a hand through her unique white hair. "Then I'd love a tour. Thank you." She replied, in a soft and light voice. She smiled a bit shyly, looking quite 'innocent and angelic.'

He watched quietly as she unfolded the piece of paper and read it out too him, a bright look suddenly on his face. "Oh, alright~ You're staying with Teegan." The boy almost snapped his fingers in a little bit of triumph, knowing exactly where the dorm was. Oh, and well, there was Greg - that guy kinda rubbed him the wrong way and he wouldn't exactly celebrate sharing a room with him, but whatever worked. He couldn't throw his judgement on her. Nate nodded and smiled in reassurance. "It's no problem." He repeated himself, throwing on an offer as well. "I can carry that bag too, if you'd like." Though, he second guessed that gesture, not exactly knowing if the girl carried clothes or bricks in the bag, but still felt it the polite thing to do anyways.
"Oh, -" The boy paused, just now supposing they should get the introductions out of the way. He gave the white-hair girl a small bow and held out his hand. "Nathaniel Wright, at your service~."

Alice looked up with a confused look as Nate mentioned Teegan. Alice assumed she was a girl, because of the name and the fact they shared a dorm. She forgot about the fact that boys and girls shared dorms here. "Teegan? Is.. she nice?" Ali asked quietly, trying not to seem to curious as she looked down.

Her hands tightened around the handle of her bag, shaking her head. "No, I'm fine. It's not that heavy." Truthfully, it had been hard to stuff all of her belongings into one suitcase, and that weighted it down quiet a bit, but she didn't mind carrying it herself.
Nathaniel? That was kinda long... "That's a cool name. But, would you mind if I called you something like... Nathan? Or Niel. Niel is cool!" She mused quietly, barely noticing that she was voicing her thoughts.
"Oh! Alice Maral." She said with a smile, taking a moment to curtsy before straightening up again.

Pfft. What the hell are you talking about, Alice? Teegan is the manliest name. ever. /shot. Still, Nathaniel smiled softly and nodded. "Yeah, she's a real sweetheart." he commented, "You'll like her, I'm sure." He wasn't sure what compelled him to say that, but something about Alice's quiet innocent-like glow reminded him of her.
Well, in this school and all the weirdos it had, who honestly knew? D; shaddap.
Nate looked unsure for a minute, but nodded. "Alright, if you say so." he shrugged, staring down at the girl as she puzzled around with his name aloud, making him laugh lightly a little. "Neil?" The boy echoed, "I haven't heard that one in a long while, but whatever floats your boat." 'Niel' then almost grinned, seeing her do a small curtsy to match his gesture. "Pleasure to meet you, Alice. Welcome to Beata."
The young man took a few steps back, giving her time to pick up her things, and walked over to the front doors; pulling one open for her.

Alice nodded slowly, a small smile on her face. Well, she kinda already had one friend. If Nate counted, because Ali didn't know him that well. She had just figured out his name, for God's sake. But, they could be friends, since he seemed nice and actually talked to her. And if what he said is true, then maybe Teegan could be her friend, too! "Okay." She piped happily.
Alice was quiet for a moment, blushing. Did he not like her choice in nickname? She thought the name Neil was really cute, and had thought that for a long time. She let out a quiet 'yeah,' lost in thought. Or whatever sinks my ship. She mused silently, looking up as he spoke once again, saying her name. "Pleasure's mine. And thank you." She replied, quickly gathering her things and scurrying up to the front door. You know, with her small size and high voice, she could have been compared to a field mouse. She stepped inside the school, dipping her head in a silent gesture of thanks to Nate before looking around. "Oooh. This place is so pretty." She softly cooed.

Hell, yeah. |D They are buddies by declaration of the Potato and Tree Gods. Nate nodded warmly to her, happy to see her excited all of a sudden. He didn't mind at all if she wanted to be friends, in fact the more he had, the better off things were for him. He was near positive she'd get along well with her new roommate too. Well... two of them, at least. Greg. >3>
Nathaniel blinked and followed her into the building, following her gaze as she glanced around the beginning of the hallways. He almost scoffed, "This is nothing." Nate couldn't help but shrug. It was strange. It blew his mind too when he first arrived at the school. You'd think it'd awe you constantly, but strangely enough, he had gotten used to it - along with a number of other people. "You should see the forest... or the island." Or the lounge. ;D That place was really magical, if you know what I mea- and aww. He made himself sad.
He stuffed his hands back in his pockets and began to lead her to the dorms. "So, how come you were invited here?" Nate asked curiously.

Her eyes widened when he looked untouched by this all. Seriously? Nothing? This school must be amazing. "There's a forest? And how can there be an island out in the middle of the forest?" She questioned, uncertain, still looking around in awe. She had yet to hear about the dark and dangerous island you entered into through a portal.

Ali's gaze finally flickered back to him at his question, surprised. Wasn't everyone invited here for the same reason? Didn't they all have special powers? And that reminded her, what was his? Or, was he asking what her power was? She decided that was the best question to answer, and went with that one. "As in, what's my ability? Possession. You know, like, controlling what someone does and says and stuff?" She said, adding a bleak explanation just in case he didn't get it, which was probably unneeded. The silver-eyed girl was quiet a moment, before finally gaining the courage to ask him. "What about you?" She asked, looking at him curiously.

Nathaniel smiled a little and looked down at her, "Yeah, not too far out past the courtyard. If you go up some floors and look out, you should be able to see it easily." He chuckled, "And that's never it. Head to the back of the forest and there's a lake too." Seriously, the mansion and all the territory that came with it made the school simply enormous. "There's only so far you can go into the forest, though, and you can't go too far out into the water. I've tried." There was always some kinda invisible force that encircled the area, somewhat between a strange kinda gel and glass. It was the weirdest shit ever.
He turned a corner, passing a few people by but paying no attention to them. "Possession?" Nate looked down at Alice in surprise. Funny how such a gentle-looking girl could have such a harsh and manipulative ability. "So... you can basically turn people into your puppets?" For a small moment, he looked a little unsettled. "That's - kinda scary. Or very, actually. But amazing." At least he was honest. Nate looked thoughtful for a moment, suddenly getting an oh-so bright idea. "Would you try it on me?" Stupid curiosity wanted him to see how it worked exactly, and he wasn't sure he'd know others who'd volunteer just for the hell of it.
He shrugged when she finally asked her question, feeling his power was somewhat pretty lame compared to hers. "Empathy. I can feel other people's emotions and change them if I want too." And some other perks he wasn't willing to go into at the moment.

A forest. A lake. An island. What did this place not have, other than good ol' electricity? Seriously, Alice was complete awestruck. She had never lived in such a big place- how had the Headmaster done it?! He lived here. Like, as his house. That was just... Woah.
The next part startled her a bit, but she supposed it made sense. Wouldn't want kids running away. Though, Lord knows why they would want too. It could probably keep people from coming in, or students from drowning. Regardless, she didn't questioned this strange detail for a second. "I just can't wrap my finger around how big this place is. It's so amazing." She murmured, looking out a window high above her head.
Ali's gaze momentarily followed the other students, but she didn't pay much attention to them aside from that. "That's... one way to put it, but yes." She said quietly, seeing his unease and frowning slightly. She didn't like her power because of that. She hated knowing that she could control those around her, and didn't want to do it. But the invitation to here was just to good to pass up. Her aunt had convinced her to come so she could learn how to use her power. She had given her a few reasons, like self defense, how useful the power was, how it could help others later on- the latter really getting to Ali. She gave in, knowing that if she learned more about her power, she could probably find a way to help others.
"Thanks." She mumbled, using sarcasm, which was rare for her. Wait.. What did he just say? Did he want to know if she would possess him? "Wha-what? I... I guess." She stuttered uncertainly, biting her lip. She hadn't really expected coming to Beata and using her power as a party trick, but okay.
"That's awesome!" She exclaimed. So he could pick up on what she was feeling right now? That was possibly the coolest thing she'd ever heard. Possession? Pfft. No. He could change people's flipping emotions.
Okay. Now time to focus. Alice did just that, putting all her concentration on Nate. In a moment, she watched the color of his eyes change to the same metallic silver as her's. She didn't know how it felt to be possessed, but she figured the person was still there, watching helplessly from inside their head as she toke control. Her reign was small, and she only had a hold on his hands and eyes. She raised his hands in the air and stretched out the fingers of both, putting a smile on her face. She let his hands fall, losing control of them before mentally snaking towards his mouth. "I can also control what you say." She explained softly through his lips, before losing her grip on him altogether and her mind went back to her own body, who had kept a dazed looked the whole time, a shell without anything in it. She blinked her own eyes, and smiled nervously, looking down. She could imagine him thinking she was a freak because of that. But.. He asked for it.

Nathaniel had to at least agree with that statement. "There are so many things here, it's actually kinda hard to find everything. I've looked around this school so many times and I still don't think I've seen anything." With the place being a mansion, there were plenty of rooms left unexplored. "But yeah, there is this freak portal down that takes you to an island. It's really freaky. I don't even know how it works. Magic, I guess. Just like the rest of us... kinda." Alright, Nate, at this point you're just listening to the sound of your own voice. I'm sure.

How could she exactly help others by taking over their very beings? ;w; Please, explain that to Eb. /shot. He didn't even bother answering to her compliment, though it did make him smile a bit, it still wasn't really useful in well... anything. Except to get the best of people... and to annoy the hell out of Melody. At that thought his smile grew a little wider, but it was quickly wiped away. - Woah - wait, was she actually going to do it?

Quietly, he stared down at Alice, not noticing that his gaze had changed from a bright golden to her piercing silver; though he did feel... well - he didn't know exactly how to put it. It was like it was crowded inside his own body. Everything suddenly felt stiff and uncomfortable. Unnatural? Maybe even a little painful, leaving him weak. He noticed the harshest change in his hands, staring with wide eyes as they were raised in the air against his will. Nate gritted his teeth and tried to pull again, trying to fight it, but it only make his body jerk around from the tension. He still couldn't do anything, and his hands shook as they spread out to Ali's will.
Now, he would have let out a sigh a relief when he could use his hands again, except she had taken that chance with her next move. The words left his mouth, but hadn't done any of it himself.

When all of it was through and he regained control of himself again, Nathan blinked hard. His eyes were back to their normal color. Honestly, he was speechless. "Wow..." he breathed, "That was... - you really are something." No wonder she was here. The entire experience was terrifying, but still he found himself grinning. What a trip.

Alice merely nodded, thinking everything over. It would probably take all her time here to explore everything- which she planned on doing. This place was just to good to pass up on looking around. She'd also have to explore that portal too- another thing that caught her interest. Bad Nate. We all know you probably have the smexiest voice in the world- aside from Desken- but seriously. >:C I'm ashamed.
Well, um, since you asked... She could possess the bad guy, and make them not be... bad? How do you think she felt, having such a harsh and controlling power? Horrible. She'd much rather have had Nate's. And yes, it really annoys Melody. ;3; *patpatnate*

Well, he asked for it. Literally. And Ali wasn't one to say no anyway. The small girl smiled weakly, nodding in response. "Thanks.." She said softly. To her, possessing someone gave her a feeling of power, being in control. But she could always feel the person fighting back for said control, and had that sense of claustrophobia. Like there just wasn't enough room for two people, and she was being pushed out.

Alice had forgotten how weak she was when it came to her power, and how tired even that little bit had made her. She felt to alone in her mind, and her thoughts were scattered and unorganized, as if they were to far away from each other, making her thoughts slow. And her head spun like mad, making her extremely dizzy. "Uuh." She moaned, losing her bearings and teetering a moment, before using her suitcase to steady herself. Stupid girl, using her power when she knew it would wear her down. In all honesty though, she hadn't possessed someone in so long, that she had forgotten about that small effect.

Well, he assumed that she liked her power very much. No matter what the power was, it made someone unique, and pretty much who they were. Even if he didn't exactly think his power was the most amazing in the school, he couldn't imagine his life without it. Wasn't it the same with her? Or, maybe it would be, once she could turn all the bad guys good... by use of puppet strings. ;w;

Nathaniel shook his head, the strange feeling of claustrophobia gone and his mind clearing out now. Though, while he seemed to be recovering, Alice was turning to the total opposite. Not at all afraid of breaking into someone's personal space, He put his hand lightly on her, is if it would help steady her out; or make it easier to catch her if she fell. Instinct, man. Thankfully, she caught herself on her bad and it his assistance wasn't needed.

"You alright?" he asked, a little worry laced in his voice, but in all honesty Nate wasn't surprised at the reaction she had had. It happened to everyone here when they pushed themselves too hard in one way or another. "... Wanna sit for a minute maybe?" There were only a billion couches in these damn hallways. He wondered when this place was for the fabulously rich and wealthy how many times a day did simply walking tire them out so much they needed a seat every 10 steps.

Well, normal people got by just fine without powers. She could still have an identity without this harsh ability apart of it. She could be... that chick with white hair. Okay, in all honesty, she really had nothing going for her. She wasn't as unique as everyone else was. So maybe her power was a part of her. Whether she liked it or not.
She should just be the bad guy. The bad guys got to do all the cool stuff. ;3; But no. That wasn't how Alce rolled.

At his concerned question, Alice nodded, though she felt nauseous. Yeah Nate. She was totally freaking dandy. x3 She tried to open her mouth to reply, but gave up on speech, her mind to clustered. So instead, she just nodded again at his request. She hated to make him take more time out of his day, but she actually needed him now. She eyed a close-by couch, but it looked a long ways away. Clutching her stomach, she stumbled over and plopped down in the couch, hating how pathetic she most have looked. Thank God for lazy rich people and their need for fancy couches. cx *shot*
