Weapon Picking

Shortly after arriving and unpacking Deacon walked into the gymnasium his hand in his pockets and looking down. He slowly walked over to the weapon table knowing he would have to pick a weapon sooner or later. He picked up on of the last Longbows they had and tried shooting a target. He shot after aiming and decided that he should try a weapon other than a bow. The first sword he laid his eyes on was a Gladiator he picked it up and pulled it out of the sheath and walked up to a target and sliced at it. At first he did well, but when he started getting into slicing the sword ended up being too light. He sighed and set it back on the table, then he saw the sword. He eyes beheld the mighty sword called, Jian. He walked toward it and picked it up, it was the right weight, he walked toward the target and sliced it a few times. He got way into slicing the target and it ended up being perfect. He tied the sheath on his belt and kept slicing the target.

Around the same time, a frizzy brown-haired boy walked into the room, his eyes quickly scanning over the weapons. A bow and arrow, maybe? ... No. The nervous guy would never hold steady. Oh my - look at all the shiny things - the very sharp, shiny things... ;A; No, not for him either. His eyes did settle on a particular weapon, though.
The young man picked up a pair of nunchucks and smiled. Hey, cool. Just like those ninjas in the movies~. The rods were made of metal he noticed, and they were chained together, the length of the chain about as long as his arm.
Willing to test them out, Taylor swiftly began to swing them around his body, quickly getting the hang of it - "Not bad." He smiled and continued to walk around, starting to show off. It backfired when the rod slammed straight into his stomach, sending him coughing.
okay. ;A; need to learn to control them bettur and not kill himself.
It was about then he noticed Deacon in the room. Crap. ;A; He didn't see that, did he?

Deacon was busy ripping the target to shreds when he saw Taylor. He dropped the sword and yelped and then saw Taylor hit himself in the chest. He darted over and asked "A-a-are you o-okay?"

Taylor felt a blush come on to his face from embarrassment. Real smooth... "Y- Yeah... I'm okay..." The boy muttered and forced himself to stand up straight with a smile on his face, though it looked incredibly uncertain. "I'm sorry." He said.

"W-What are y-you s-s-sorry for?" he stuttered

"Ah -" He started to answer, but had to stop. Good question. Taylor gave a cheeky grin and rubbed the back of his head. "Distracting you, I guess?"

"O-Oh" he said and walked back to where he dropped his sword and slowly picked it up

"So, um..." The young man brushed himself off and watched him walk away. "I'm Taylor."

"I'm D-Deacon" he said sticking his sword in its sheath

"Cool - S- So, you're new here too?" Poor Taylor. He wasn't big on small talk. ;u; So, he started inching his way over to the practice dummies.

OOC: I went back and looked at his creation and hes actually not shy *facepalm*

IC: Deacon nodded and said "Yeah, I actually got here about 3 or 4 hours ago" then he looked at a target and quickly had his sword out and stabbed straight through the target where you could see the tip of it on the other side

Not sure if Deacon noticed, but Taylor let out an open flinch as the dummy was stabbed through. "That's - um... cool..." He said nervously, forcing himself to quit eying the sword. "You look like you've used one of those before..."

"I don't really have experience with it, it's just not that hard to stab a target" he said yanking it out

"Right..." Taylor mumbled, rubbing the back of his neck. Suddenly, though, he wasn't so eager to play with his new ninja toy.

Deacon looked over at him and saw his weapon "I''ve heard nunchuks are cool"

"Oh, uh - yeah..." Taylor stuttered, then smiled. "When you're not hurting yourself with them." Suddenly, the young man got an idea in his head, "Hey - um... Did you think that maybe...?"

"Huh?" the young man asked

"Um - I'll kinda - sorta - fight with you -..." He held up his new weapon a little defensively, "For practice - If you promise not to kill me..."

Deacon chuckled "I promise"

"Alright. You can have the first move, then..." A little nervously, Taylor took in a deep breathe and stepped on one of the large mats, looking a bit determined now.

If he disn't already Deacon yanked the sword out of the target and walked over to Taylor and steadied himself then slashed for his side

Ahahahaha ~ Yupp. He was going to die. ;u; Instinctively, Taylor held up both bars of his weapon and put the chain out to stop Deacon's swing, lifting a leg and trying to kick him back, though the motion proved to be awkward. Still, he let one hand go and quickly flew to the side, swinging the chain and aiming to hit him..

Deacon jumped backwards and used the hilt of his sword to hit his ankle down

"Woah -" Taylor's leg was put down and he near lost his balance. Quickly, went with the momentum and swung of the nunchucks, knocking the sword away with his rock and swinging it again at Deacon's side.

Deacon dropped into push-up position and the nunchuk whizzed oved his head the rolled and kicked Taylor just enough to knock him down and then jumped up and grabbed his sword
