Nathan leaned against one of the lockers, having left lunch early that afternoon. He didn't look forward to pulling out his books so instead he stood there and watched the crowd. He wasn't particularly interested in any one person, until he saw one, that was. "Hey, Desken!" He called out with a wave, half-a-smile on his face.

Avery had just left the cafeteria and was heading to her dorm room, thoughts of a soft, inviting bed filling her head, when she passed an attractive boy who was calling out to one of the Guardians. It was her first day at Beata Academy and she didn't know anyone yet, so she figured it was about time to make some friends. She glided to a halt and viewed the situation with interest.

Desken looked up when his named was called, a surprised expression on his face as he searched for the speaker. Once he spotted his bro, he smiled somewhat too, though he was a little more uncertain. "Hey Nathaniel... What's up?" He asked, walking over to the kid and leaving the crowd he was helping monitor. Screw that, he was a fucking Guardian. He does what he wants- B) *shot*

Nathan shrugged, "Nothing much, just enjoying the scenery." He said with a small smile, "And you looked like you could use a break from standing there all dull-like." He glanced around the room, catching the eye of Avery.

Desken frowned. "What are you talking about? I'm never dull-like." He looked up and spotted Avery before turning back to Nathaniel. "By scenery, do you happen to mean girls?" He asked with a snicker.

Avery saw the boy's eyes meet hers, and she lowered them bashfully, heat blooming on her cheeks.

Nate shrugged, "A dull task, then?" At Desken's comment, though, he couldn't help but smile cheekily. "Perhaps. You have got to admit, it's a lovely view." The young man glanced back at Avery for a few moments, "Go talk to her." he said suddenly.

Desken nodded, then turned to Nate in surprise at his last comment. "Alright..." He said warily, standing up and walking over to the girl with a steady pace. He smiled crookedly whenever he grew near, and bowed somewhat when he stopped in front of her. "Hey." He greeted. "I'm Desken." He introduced himself, giving himself time for a better pickup line. D;

Nathan smiled and crossed his arms, planning to watch this with interest. Go man, go!

"Oh, I'm Avery," Avery said, tucking a piece of her long brown hair behind her ear. She'd seen this Guardian - Desken? - around, but she hadn't noticed how cute he was until now. Be cool, Avery, she scolded herself.

"Yep. Well, bye!" "Avery.. What a pretty name. It suits you." He said with a light laugh. "So, I haven't seen you around- and trust me, I see a lot of people. Are you new?" He asked softly, in a kind tone.

"Yep, today's my first day," Avery said brightly, peering at him through half-masted eyelashes - her go-to flirting move. "Any advice?" She allowed a slight note of flirtation to creep into her voice.

'Don't blow it, man...' Nathan laughed lightly from the sidelines.

Desken smiled back, and shook the grey brown hair from his eyes, making his hat fall lower, giving him a flirtatious look of his own, though his words weren't exactly that, "Well, for one don't break any rules, and if you do be covert- wouldn't want you to get in any trouble. Two, stay away from Irene. She's... Well, you'll understand. And three, you should probably befriend a certain Guardian, you know, for extra measures... He'd be happy anyway. " He said jokingly. And don't die... Hopefully that went without saying.

Avery raised her eyebrows. "Befriend a Guardian, huh? Hm, I wonder where I could find a Guardian..." She trailed off teasingly.

Desken looked around, pretending to search for someone. After a second, he frowned and raised his hands in defeat. "I don't know. I only see one Guardian here at the moment. Will he do?" He asked, tilting his head with a wink.

Avery pretended to give Desken a once-over, even though she had already secretly memorized all of his features. She stuck her nose up in mock-snootiness. "Hmm, I guess. But you're going to be really hurting my rep."

"But it would be worth it. We can be forever alone.. Together." He responded with a wink and then a laugh. Because seriously, Desken was the coolest person in the world. D;

Nathan buried his head in his hands suddenly at that last line, both to hide his face in embarrassment and to stifle a laughter.
