Nathaniel sat in one of the back rooms in the library, sitting down at the bench and running his fingers smoothly across the keys. He sighed gently. e hadn't played in years, not since he was a child, and here the teachers had him playing for hours on end each day. In order not to have to wait on the teachers to unlocks the rooms containing the instrument, they had moved it to the library, on the condition that Nate swore to use the time to focus on his powers and play peacefully, not simply bash the keys idiotically and disrupt the entire building.

Listening to the harsh rain outside, one particular song came to his mind. Taking in a deep breathe and letting it out slowly, he focused on his power and beat down on the piano keys gently, a song starting to form.

Aravis sauntered into the library, searching for a book on misic (What a twist). She stopped at the entrance, hearing an elegant sound. As silently as she could, she walked over to Nate, and bent over him. She watched as he played his song, a little off. She didn't care if it ws or wasn't bad, it was music. This place they called a school, didn't allow music, or technology.

Because Frosty is a troll like that, Melody just happened to be in the library at the time. She turned the page of her book, which was a science fiction, but don't tell. D; She looked around for the creator of the music, which she found beautiful, and slowly stood. Melody followed the enchanting tune to one of the back rooms, and she looked around. Spotting a familiar auburn head of hair, she let out a tiny gasp, silent compared to the music, and then smiled. She looked at Aravis, and put a finger to her lips, signaling to be quiet.
Melody found a single chair in the corner and sat with her hands in her lap, closing her eyes and losing herself in the song.

Nate stayed concentrated on the piano, it was rather slow, and he was undaunted if he was a beat behind now and then; it only meant he had to focus more. Suddenly a huge spike of emotion him:: curiosity. He tried to keep his attention on the piano, noting the feelings, where their sources were. Eventually, as he was a good deal farther into the song, he recognized their points exactly. One, was right behind him, the other in the corner of the room.

The one in the corner was strong, awful familiar, and related it too the same person his gift picked up on perfectly, even if he was completely alone. The other one he couldn't recognize at all, and he held onto his focus for all long as he could before giving up and into the temptation; he turned his ead ever so slightly to catch the eye of Aravis before quickly flicking his attention back to the piano; his song starting to end.

Aravis saw the piano playing boy turn his head, as he did, she saw how he messed up the song. She just kept her eyes locked on his nimble fingers. She wouldn't even notice he turned, if he didn't mess up! She caught him just as he turned away, still not aware of Melody in the back.

IC: Melody's grin grew. She listened in, not noticing any slip ups or fall backs in the beat. To her, it was beautiful. She wasn't picky on music, of course, aside from rap. She was very picky about rap. Raaap. e.e *shot*
Whenever the song ended, she paused a moment, before slowly clapping.

Nate played the last notes of his song, his concentration fading away and becoming far more aware of the young woman behind him and practically breathing down his neck. Carefully, his finger struck the final key and he turned to face Aravis. "Enjoying the music, dear?" he asked, setting his hands back in his lap, a cheeky smile on his face. "If you'd like, I could give you some private lessons. ;D" /shotforeverplz. He turned his entire body around further, seeing Melody, his smile turned warmer. Well, that made sense. "And you? Sorry to distract you two."

Aravis didn't say a word to him. She just stood there like a statue. She just looked him over, up and down, trying to figure him out. It seemed like he didn't care about a thing. "Oh, no distraction. Just beautiful music from a student." she replied.

Melody, on the other hand simply blinked and got straight to the point. "I didn't know you could play." She said slowly, in a measured tone. Can I have private lessons? ;D *shot* Other than that, she studied him, as if seeing him from a whole new perspective. He played an instrument- and by instrument, she didn't mean the triangle. And he played good- like, really good. And anything music related interested her. Nathaniel being a musician? That was just... Hot. *shot* Because Frosty over here couldn't think of any other word. You know what? I'm just gonna... shut up.. *fades into background* *shot*

Nate fought the urge to pose as Aravis inspected him, only hesistating for fear of being smacked upside the head. "Why thank you." He smirked, though pausing, a bit more humility showing. "I'm pretty rusty." Nathaniel raised one hand, stretching his fingers out. "You like?" He winked at Melody.
He was honestly quite surprised that these two turned out at all. Nate paused, hearing more people shuffle around in the back.

Aravis backed up, and sat down, knowing He didn't feel good with her so close. looked behind her to see who he was talking to. She leaned toward him and said "She's a keeper." before she sat back down. She looked back at Melody, looking her over now. She saw it all, too much of it. Yup...him, the rusty, her the...Eh, I don't know...They would look good together.

IC; Catching his wink, Melody laughed. "Pretty good, I guess- for someone so rusty." She retorted, a wink of her own. She didn't hear the girl's comment to Nathaniel due to a sound from behind. Turning her head, she looked to see who it was.

It was Sarah who had entered the library to try to look for something that would interest her. Instead, she had walked towards the back to find Melody and Aravis standing next to Nate who was sitting in front of a beautiful piano. She didn't want to disturb them, so she kept quiet until Nate suddenly looked up and found her. "Oh, hello," She said bashfully. "I'm not interrupting, am I?"

Nathaniel smiled. Jeez, Mel was just never straight forward with her answers, not that he minded. He glanced over at Aravis, a little surprised at what she was saying. "I suppose so..." he said quietly, giving the girl a strange look. Wait, what? Did he even know her? "... who are you again?"
And then the newcomer showed themselves. "Sarah?" he hadn't expected her to walk in as well. Nate smirked. Well damn, all these girls walking in, maybe he should play the piano more often. |D /shot. He tried to lean back smoothly, mistakenly setting his elbow harshly against the keys, making a shrill cry of notes come alive.
Oh yus, really smooth.

Aravis coverd her ears from the blast of noise. "Ya, real cool," she said to Nate in a sarcastic voice. She wouldn't let her name out to him. "Maybe you can go talk to her, ya know. Seal the deal?" she asked. She was doing this because after all he was Rusty (that's the name Aravis will call him) and she was Notes (A new name like Nate's new name).

Melody cringed at the sound of the piano notes. She closed her eyes and rubbed her temples. "Um, I'm pretty sure my cat made that same sound whenever she walked on the piano." She said, shooting him a pointed look. Whether or not she heard or not, Melody showed no sign of overhearing Aravis and Nathaniel's conversation. It was hard to tell if she heard them or not, and only a subtle smile hidden as she turned to face Sarah signaled she acknowledged anything. As well as the slight blush, which she covertly concealed with her long bangs- she really needed to trim them soon. "Sup- Sarah, right? You're Happy's sister?" She said it less as a statement than a question.

Sarah nodded as her attention tired from the terrible-sounding notes to Melody. "Yeah, that's right," she replied shyly. It was then that she recognized Meloday from the day that Happy had that awkward encounter in this same room. "Do you guys come here often?" She asked, her eyes shifting between the girl and Nate. They seemed to be around each other a lot outside of the dorm rooms.

"Shut up." Nate sniffed at both Melody's and Aravis' snarky comments. Yeah, he meant to fall on the keys and practically shatter his own ears. He looked at the girl beside him strangely, "What?" He shook his head and rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, still keeping his voice low. STFU. She's gonna hear youuuuuu. "N- no. Mel's just a really... er- really good friend, is all..." One that he hugged and kissed, admittedly liked, and somewhat-felt committed too? He glanced over at Melody, the slightest blush starting to show on his face. Alright, so maybe he should, but he wasn't sure he wanted to tie himself in such a way, though he had already thought of several ways to ask her out... BUT RLY, why the hell would he discuss something like that with someone he met not a few minutes ago? "Why am I even talking with you about this?"
Nathaniel turned his attention back to the others, blinking at Sarah. "Actually, yeah. To read or... obviously, this now. Guys in charge said I had to pick up on playing again." he gestured at the piano. He didn't even wanna think to remember that whole thing with Happy. >_>

Aravis laughed a little. She could tell he liked Notes. "You are," she began "Because you can't admit you like her." she said. She was waiting for him to grow a bad reaction, or slap the back of her head. "Just admit it. Your face is as red as a rose." she said. She would't let this go just yet. She wanted to push him to do it. If she didn't would he ever have the guts?

Melody inwardly cringed, a spark of pain going off in her mind. So that's what she was? A good- oh no, really, really good friend? Hell, you might as well throw 'with benefits' at the end and they could wear matching T-Shirts. I'm with the Real, Real Good Friend. |D ->
Sometimes- times like now, she hated empathy with a passion. Why couldn't she just suffer through things like a good little girl and not have people feeling her aura or however the fuck it worked?!
She instead focused her attention on Sarah- a smile on her lips. "Yeah, I figured. It's nice to met you Sarah- I'm Melody. And obviously, I came her for the show." She joked playfully with a wink, doing her best to pull the girl out of her shy state, and push away Melody's annoyance by focusing on someone else.

"Oh okay," she replied. "I guess he plays really well to gather a crowd. I apparently missed him playing." She tried to keep a conversation io so that it wouldn't become awkward, but it seemed like that wasn't fling to happen. Melody seemed to be distracted by something, but Sarah ignored it.

Nate glared at Aravis. No, you know what? Screw her, ... figuratively. He didn't need a stranger telling him how he felt or what he should do. "Well, you didn't miss much," he told Sarah and turned back to face the piano, placing his fingers back on the keys gently. He started to play [[ another song ]]. Yes, more Yiruma, because faq you, that's why. I love him. |3 He was a few paces into the song before a sharp feeling of pain hit him. It didn't really hurt physically, but it was full of dismay and disappointment, he didn't understand where it had come from.. and oh god, was he crying? What the hell? Not to mention he was starting to feel a little pissed off... at himself. wat? He hadn't made any effort to suppress the striking emotions and had to wipe away a small tear before continuing on with his song.

Aravis sat where she was watching as he did this. She knew that she made him cry so she said "I'm sorry. I'll stop talking about it okay Rusty?" she said silent enough for only Nate to hear. She looked back at the two in the back. Now it was This new girls time to be looked over.

Melody turned around, a frown on her face. Concern lit in her eyes as she watching him closely. She couldn't tell from here, but... was Nathaniel.. crying? No, he couldn't be. Even though music had that power- oh, didn't she know it- she wouldn't ever expect to see him cry. Lord knows she felt like it, though. She listened intently, enjoying the song, but not as much as usual with all that on her mind. My God Mel, pull yourself together. You're pathetic. A voice in her head growled. She shook her head, refusing to like herself bring herself down. Turning to Sarah, she smiled. "Yeah, I suppose. So what about you? Do you like spending your days in the library?" She questioned, leaning back in the chair and resting her head on crossed arms.
