| Oh, wait. He threw it on the floor? D8 Dude, what a jackarse. Stephen let out a sigh, setting his hand back down. "I lied. It wasn't a purity ring." Well, he had sorta planned on it to be, but Trina's club rules included drastic makeovers of the body and of their fashion, because apparently if you didn't look proper it was stupid for you to have such standards. "But..." He paused, thinking of how to go on. | |

| Blinking, Aislinn petted the head of her pink tiger/lion/cat, absently starring at Stephen's mouth. She heard the words leave his lips, but didn't actually believe them. She blushed of embarrassment and anger. "So you let me think that I'd taken advantage of some poor boy who just wanted to live a life of celibacy?" AJ questioned, her golden eyes burning. She'd felt bad. She'd felt wrong and dirty. Well, she still felt a little dirty BUT NOT GUILTY. Not anymore. | |

| His ice, blue caught her own, a little irritation showing that she assumed so without letting him finish. "Excuse me." Stephen frowned, "I still have my morals. But maybe I did want you to feel a little shameful." He rested one arm on his leg, wondering what she'd do. | |

| Aislinn rolled her flame filled gold eyes. "I did. But it was just some dumb dare. It's not like I'd volunteered to 'defile' you." She said, doing the same, and resting her chin in her palm, her bangs flopping into her eyes. | |

| "I'm glad. You were still enjoying yourself." Stephen retorted gently, and adding on, just to be truthful and see her reaction while he was at it. "About as much as I was." Come to think of it, he was a little ashamed too. At least in that he had lied to her. | |

| Blush rose to A's cheeks, and she looked down at her stuff tiger. "That's um.... good to know I guess." She said, untucking the hair from her ear and letting it cover up her blush. She really kinda wanted to bolt from the bed, but half of her screamed to jump on Stephen and smother his face his hers. cx | |

| Stephen looked amused, "That won't help when your hair is just as red, my dear." He said, referring to her hiding her blush behind her hair. He fell silent once again, not really sure of what to say after that. The 'misconception' was the biggest point he wanted to get across... Well, there was also... No... Better not get into that. | |

| Aislinn pulled her knees to her chest, hating every moment they two were close. "I'm blushing of embarrassment, duh." She said, wanting to punch him straight in the nose. Really, who did he think he was, dragging up old ridiculous feelings that she'd long since pushed away. " I just don't understand. I know you didn't come here just to say that you liked some lap dance a stupid, red-head girl gave you on a dare, so what is it really?" A raised and eyebrow, her golden eyes cooled a bit. | |

| Stephen let out a long deep sigh, sitting up and staring her down. She drew her knees up and he easily saw this as a sign of her cutting him off, keeping herself secluded. The silent, young man waited for the words to show up, especially with how she was feeling at the moment, but they didn't, so he thought of something else to tell her instead. "To study?" He offered, as if it were obvious. | |

| "Liar." A said simply, narrowing her eyes. She could see straight through his words. She known he'd never come to study with her. To much reading, not enough suffering. Rolling her golden eyes, Aislinn asked again. "Why are you really REALLY here?" | |

| He blinked slowly, "In a situation like this?" With the way she was obviously resentful, a good idea was far from describing what she wanted him to spit out. Stephen frowned, "I'd rather focus on the textbooks." | |

| "Oh... good." Aislinn untucked her chin from the top of her legs and scooted closer to Stephen, where there legs almost touched. Balancing the book between his knee and her's, she flipped to the Civil War chapter, and start on the section 1 review. "Is this um.. okay with you? Because I really need to work on this before that test Thursday." AJ said faintly, looking at him, her fiery golden eyes calmed. | |

| "Fine." Stephen answered simply, glad to see her relax a small amount. He helped hold the book between them, "How old are you?" He asked, completely jjst to be aware of what yeat she was in, of course.. He felt like he had taken this already.. | |

| The Civil war never really did interest A but she studied anyhow, looking at the questions. Most of them were easy, and she knew for a fact that the teacher usually took his questions from the book. She could already think of four points for the essay question off the top of her head. Aislinn heard Stephen mumble something as she turned a few pages to get a better idea about an answer she was iffy about. "Hmm? Oh, I'm 15. I'm in year 10 right now." AJ said, remembering that she'd be 16 in August. The 1st to be exact. Engulfed back in her study, she pushed the nagging feeling that Steph was hiding something, too the back of her mind. School first, boy issues later. | |

| Stephen nodded quietly, and looked thoughtful for a moment. She was two years younger than him for the next month or so. Pushing the thought to the side, he started thinking back to his tenth grade history class. "Uncle Tom's Cabin." He said rather suddenly, flipping the pages back to the start of the chapter and finding a small paragraph. "They hardly talk about it, but it was the book of it's time. Completely fictional, but it drew a lot of sympathy for the slave class. Even over seas, the common people of England and France loved it. It's what kept the governments of the countries from giving support to the South when they broke away, because the North was liberating the slaves and they feared they wouldn't have support of the people." Le Eb's inner history nerd aside, he finished his explanation, feeling he had already talked a bit too much. He often went to the library and did this type of research on his own, though, in his spare time. Having already learned about this, he didn't mind sharing a point or two. "... You can bring it up in your essay." He said quietly. | |

| Reading the paragraph Stephen pointed out, it was completely obvious that this was totally not the reason he was here. Of course, Aislinn would be sure to bring up the book in her essay, but she really wasn't getting focused on her studies. It was kinda hard when Stephen was sitting right there, starring her down. It kinda made her skin crawl, and not in the good way. In the way that made you feel like you had bugs under your skin and you just wanted to scratch them till they went away or until your skin was gone. Crazy right? "That's actually a good point. I'm sure Mr. Craig will be delighted, seeing as there's only a few sentences in the whole chapter on it." She said, smiling. Maybe Stephen was a good study partner. Ignoring the feeling to ask him once again why he was really there, Aislinn flipped to the next chapter, needing to soak up some information on the Civil Right's Act. Brown Vs Board of Education. You can do this. Focus on the court case. Not on Stephen, the court case. But the more she read about Separate but equal the more she became distracted. Ask him one more time. A put her hand in the middle of the book, her fingers digging into the binding. "Steph... Just please. Why did you really come? I just can't focus. It's all I'm really thinking about." She said shortly, looking up at him, her chin pointed defiantly.

| He nodded to her, glad she accepted his idea and turned back into the book. Stephen pretended to be studying into the book, just one more court-case out of the many, but he found that he himself couldn't either. His face was unreadable, but his thoughts were elsewhere. When she started speaking again, his gaze flicked back up to her, and he couldn't help but sigh. "You're not going to let this go, are you?" he asked, the question almost rhetorical. | |

| "Probably not." She smiled, flipping back through her book, as if to say This is just for the fun of it. I kind of like annoying you. Aislinn was good at displaying those kinds of looks. You could say that should could almost always cover her face when and if she wanted too. Which usually she didn't care. But when it came to getting under Stephen's skin, she'd so almost anything. It was a bitch move to be a bitch just to annoy him, but he did it to her.... AJ still couldn't believe he'd let her call him Steph. cx | |

| Mm, he let the random nickname slide past, just for this one time. Stephen shifted around uncomfortably, finding a stray piece of paper and sliding it into the history book as a bookmark, he waited until she could move her hand and close it. If he was such a large distraction, there was no point into having it open anyways. Haha, so much for studying~ /shot. He stared blankly at the floor for a few moments before finally speaking. "Well, perhaps I was just strangely intrigued by this girl." Stephen muttered, "And I wanted to try and study her a little more."/shotforeverplz. | |

| Aislinn's whole body stiffened and she had the extreme urge, demand to bolt from the bed. But she couldn't move. It's as if the entire world had been shoved into a bowl of jello, and no one could move. Robotically, she turned her head towards him. "Wha... WHAT?!" This WAS NOT happening. Stephen did not like her. He wanted nothing to do with her, and she liked it that way. She didn't like him either. Well, she hadn't liked him for a long time. Those feelings had fleed the moment he'd walked away that day at the bonfire. Yet here he was, white hair and all, baring his feelings to her while the two sat on her bed. No, no, no. He was joking, he had to be. But A didn't ask if he was. That would have been extremely rude. What do I do, what do I do, WHAT DO I DO....?!?!?!11??1one!!111. Just sit there. Don't set him off." A million things were running through her head, most of them telling her to run, throw herself off the bed and run. But the loudest told her to sit, and listen to what Stephen had to say. So she sat, and she starred, and she gasped, but she did not move and inch. Aislinn became very aware of how short her shorts were. | |

| Stephen frowned at her reaction. Clearly, it was not what he expected, or not completely anyways. He supposed it was what he should have. After all, how strange and harsh their first impressions were, there was no way to get rid of those either; being very important and all. She was probably surprised he had talk to her at all today, and all of a sudden he's dropping this kinda bomb on her. Though, it wasn't as bad as she was probably making it out too be. He didn't like her, per se. Not yet, anyways. He wasn't going to try and serenade her or sweep her off her feet, it was just as he said. He truly believed there was different girl under those first impressions that intrigued him and that he wanted to get to know. Okay, maybe not for the friendliest reasons, but it was a start. He nodded a yes in confirmation to her uncertainty and frowned again, turning his head away. "I should go." Stephen muttered, completely unsure of how to handle the situation that he himself had created. The young man stood up, avoiding her fiery gaze. | |

| Do something, do something! He's obviously upset! Shit, now she was going to have to fix this. Aislinn grabbed his wrist, smiling in a sort of, sorry way. "No, no. I swear it isn't like that. I was just surprised that you would say that. I kinda thought you were a little self absorbed..." Yep, that's the way to fix things. A frowned at herself. That had sounded all wrong. Allllllll wrong. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean it like that... I just, I'm not very good with words. That's something you should know about me." She said, pulling at her cheek with anxious fingers. It wasn't that she wanted to get all cuddly and cozy with Stephen, but a friend would be nice. And to be friends you kinda had to get to know each other. Also, it's not like she wasn't curious about the tortured soul that lingered just below Stephen's icy, cold gaze. No, I'm sure everyone wanted underneath that pale skin of his, especially Aislinn. But something about the exchange of information seemed intimate. Let's just push it into the intimacy of friends, okay? A thought to herself, pulling Stephen back onto the bed. "What I'm trying to say is, I'd like to get to know you, too." Here we go. o3o | |

| He was about to have taken his first step for the door when he was forced to pause, a little surprised when he had felt her hand wrap around his wrist, but like he had done before to her. Confused, his gaze fell on her once again as she started fumbling out words. 'Self-absorbed?' He thought, oh well... Jee, thanks Aislinn, though he didn't loosen up as she apologized... but as she went on the uncertainty began to lift and he was starting to look a little amused again. "Clearly." Stephen said, commenting on her skills with words, although in all actuality he was just about as good with them as she was, if not twice as bad. She couldn't really pull him back down, but he did get the message and sit back down in his spot, blue eyes trying to read her own. The smallest smile came unto his face, "Are you sure?" he asked, "It might be rather troublesome."

| Facepalm, she'd acted really stupid. "I think I can handle it." Sh elaughed to herself, her nose twitching, as she became nervous. Was this really the best idea. Here she was with Stephen in her rly cmfy bed, will Stephen... Calm down. Aislinn thought to herself. Stephen made it obvious that he wasn't going to pull anything. Besides, if he wanted to, he would of already do it, right? This was going to be a complete disaster, Aislinn could feel it. But she needed a friend at the school, one that she could trust. At the moment, Stephen happened to be the best candidate. | |

| Stephen's smile grew ever-so-slightly bigger, 'I certainly hope so.' He thought, unable to help but notice the heavy air of awkwardness around them. What had the two of them been saying up to this point? What were they doing... pfft. Did Stephen even know what he was doing. The white-haired man sighed. The two of them needed a clean-slate. All he was as it stood is the boy she had given a lap-dance too and the one who she thought was going to take advantage of her in the middle of le study session... If they were going to try and be friends, that probably wasn't the right foot to go and start on. "Let's start over." He said, about to raise his hand to shake her own until he realized she was still holding her wrist... Stephen used the other one instead. "Stephen Malone." He introduced himself formally. Supposing he should add more unto it. Like where he was from and things he liked, but he was still a little to withdrawn to do so. He had already talked so much today. D; | |
