too lazy to come up with a good topic title

After getting a tray full of food, Payton looked around the cafeteria for a place to sit. She didn't exactly have a group of friends at Beata like she did at her grade school which made finding a table to eat at a little harder. She looked around the room for any familiar faces.

Baird sat down at a table close to a corner. He was having a great time being alone, kind of. It was nice with all of the silence, but as always, lonely. he didn't mind, it was like when he was still in normal school. The only thing that would ruin the silence was someone.

ooc: Yeah! That's right! You heard me!

Payton spotted Baird sitting by himself over in the corner. For some reason, loners really annoyed Payton. I mean, seriously people, get some friends. Payton walked over to where he was sitting and set her tray down on the table. "Mind if I sit here?" she asked, but she had all ready seated herself at the seat opposite of Baird.

"Nope. Not to be rude, but don't you have friends?" he asked. She wasn't there to be there.

What type of question is that? Of course I have friends, Payton thought bitterly. "Yes I do have friends, thank you very much. Do you?" she snapped. There was Randy, Will, that one person who tripped over her. Now that she thought about it, she really didn't have many friends, just acquaintances really. Randy was probably the closest friend she had and they hadn't really had a conversation lately.

"Nope," he said, still calm. "But the silence is pretty fun, I guess." he added. He didn't care if she was a friend or foe.

God, this guy is weird, Payton thought. "Are you always such a loner? Doesn't it get, ya know, lonely?" she asked.

"Yeah," he said in a sad voice. "But you should hink of the good sides.....Not much though. either way I go, I don't have any friends, in, or out of this place." he replied with a sigh.

Baird sounded so sad and lonely, Payton couldn't help feeling sorry for him. "Well, then, just make some friends. All you have to do is start a conversation with someone and then... um, well, it just kinda goes from there, I guess," Payton said, beginning to confuse herself. "I'm not making any sense, am I?" she asked.

He shook his head. "Nope, none." he said, laughing a little.

When Payton was done laughing a long with Baird she asked, "So how has Beata been for you so far?" looking to start a conversation.

"It's been okay, how about you." he asked

"Eh, it's been okay I guess. This place is so weird though. I honestly would rather go to a regular high school," Payton said, poking her mashed potatoes with her fork.

"The food doesn't seem normal." he thought out loud, looking down at his tray.

"The food? What's wrong with the food?" Payton asked, glancing down at her own tray. It seemed normal to her.

"Look at it." he said simply.

"Okay, I'm looking at it," Payton said, looking down at her food. "I don't see anything weird."

"Just forget it then." he replied.

"Don't worry; I will. If I don't, I might be too weird-ed out to eat the food here again," Payton joked.
