In a not-so-graceful manner, Nathaniel landed from his jump off the cliff-side unto the soft, forest grass. His clothes were worn and dirty and he didn't have much on him besides the weapon on his back and the small knife in his hand. He couldn't exactly say he was sure what was going on. Not so long ago he had been literally saving a small kitten from a bear by the lake. Nate had saved the kitten; the kitten was even still in his backpack, but he had been walking for so long he had no idea where he was or how he got into a state like this. He tried to recognize the place, but he couldn't see too far ahead, and while there was bright light filtering down, there was nothing but darkness in the distance.
Even with his little kitten behind him, literally, Nathan wasn't sure he felt safe, like the world was out to get him. Cautiously, he headed through the strange land, glancing around for any signs of life.

It was the fifth day.
Or, she thought it was. Time was a little shaky in the arena. Her clothes were torn, mud caked and bloody, bur her face and hair remained clean as if it was the first day. She searched her backpack and organized the continence. Her Gladius, a package of dried fruit, rope, and two crackers. While she put everything into neat little groups, she kept looking around for other tributes. Then she heard a cannon fire, summoning the death of another kid. Her memory was a little blurry, and she had forgotten who the other two were. She jumped back and hastily shoved her supplies back into the bag before stumbling to her feet. She wasn't sure, but she has heard something like someone dropping to the ground. She looked around and grabbed her Gladius, wrapping clean hands around it. She began walking, before entering a clearing and spotting... "Na-nathaniel?" Melody gasped.

He gazed up in the sky at the sound of the cannon. What on earth was that? He did sort of spin, still trying to recognize the area, only seeing a couple of strange birds and even more darkness past the trees. Why did he get the feeling he was being watched? Nate suddenly flinched, not expecting to hear any voice behind him, and threw her knife in Melody's direction out of instinct. The sharp weapon had flown straight and he thought it'd reach her, until he realized who it was exactly. "Melody?" He stared in disbelief. His knife narrowly missed her, digging into a tree behind instead.
Nathaniel rushed up to her, "What are you doing here?" He looked at her completely torn clothes, her body was so thin -- when was the last time she had had a decent meal? "Are you alright?" Surely there had to be something in his bag to help her. Nate threw his bow on the ground and reached behind, taking the pack off and starting to rummage through. Ohai, Kitten~.

Melody screeched and jumped to the side as the knife zoomed past her. She grasped her Gladius and clenched her teeth, glaring at Nate. "What. The. Fu-" Then her eyes widened. She was confused and scared, and toke a step back to assess the situation. But she was suppose to kill him, right? He was the only one left- but she knew she couldn't. Why Nate, why him? And where were some Nightlocks when you needed them?!
"What am I doing here? You know that! Step- step back." She warned, raising her knife, knowing she wouldn't be able to use it. Then another question surprised her. What's up with dream Nate? Shouldn't he know what's going on? Something was weird here... "Why wouldn't I be alright?" She retorted catiously, rolling her eyes in annoyance.

And another thing- why the hell did he have a kitten?!

Nate didn't notice her back off, instead taking the things out his bag and throwing them on the ground; the things were of strange size and oddly never seemed to stop ending. Was his backpack a black hole or something? Shoes. Matches. Golf club. He pulled out a small, inappropriate box with a Greek label. A blush suddenly colored his face. "I swear to God, I have no idea how those got in there." Just one more thing to be completely clueless about, Nathaniel threw the box away awkwardly and looked back up at Melody. He froze for a moment, looking wide-eyed at her knife. "No, really --," Nathan stammered out. He looked at the glint on her weapon and then back up at her. "You wouldn't do that." The words came out in a low tone.

He smiled a little uncertainly, "I don't know. Maybe because you look half-dead and you're holding me at knife point?" Nate shot back. Really, what was going on? Did he hit his head or something? Meanwhile, in the bag, a little creature was starting to show itself. The kitten clawed it's way out. It was snowy white with black limbs and ears. Nathan hardly noticed as it mewled and looked at Melody with bright blue eyes. Hm. Familiar, maybe?

Melody glanced down at his bag and raised an eyebrow at the seemingly endless amount of items. "Shuure." She said with a grin, but still cautious as she watched him.
She frowned, and then paused for a moment, thinking. Then the girl tossed the weapon to the side, and it was lost in the darkness. "No, I wouldn't." She agreed, a little pissed that he would expect that from her.
"And what do you expect, considering how rough the Games are." She snapped back, glancing down at her torn clothes. She didn't really want them anymore...
Soon, Melody's eyes landed on a cat, and they widened in surprise. Transfixed on the kitten, she leaned down and reached out her hand. Then kitten purred softly and rubbed it's cheek against her hand. Why was she so familiar? Because fuck you, that's why. It's a dream. D;
She barely noticed her outfit transform from the dirty Hunger Games uniform to a puffy, yellow sleeveless princesslike gown. Faqya.

Nathaniel coughed, glancing back to make sure that certain item was out of sight. He frowned, "The Games?" What games? Threatening to stab someone? Haha -- what kinda game was that? ಠ_ಠ The young man bent over and scooped the small kitten up, sticking it on his shoulder where it clung on awkwardly. When he turned back to look at Mel, she was caught beautifully in what seemed to him to be a ball gown. "Come on, this place sucks. Let's get out of here." Nate smiled and grabbed her hand, pulling her twords him; backwards as he ran into the darkness. The Capitol in Mel's mind was now flipping tables.

They arrived at a secluded clearing at night, a clear pool of water in the center. Nate let go of her hand gently, going to stand at the pond's edge. "This is a lot better, I think." He said, now cleansed and in a slightly-formal, monochrome outfit. His blazer was on loosely.

"The Games? The Hunger Games, duh! Did you hit your head on a- woooah!" She was interupted as he turned and grabbed her hand, before pulling her away from the arena and out of Panem, while the the people in the Capitol swooned and everyone else including the president flipped tables.
Entering the clearing, she looked around in awe. Starlight rained down and reflected from the pool, causing a Profound mirror of the sky. Her eyes trailed up, and then back down at the water. Dream Nathaniel looked ravishing in his outfit, as she would expect from a dream. The only thing that was missing was...
The cat mewed and pawed lightly at Nate's ear, as if summoning him to let her down. Her large icey blue eyes stared, transfixed on the pool below.
And then the unexpected- or totally expected, depending on who you are, happened. A white creature appeared into the clearing. It was tall, large and magestic. It looked like any normal horse aside from the strange glow to it, the intelligence in it's eyes- oh, and the horn.

Nate shrugged his shoulder, trying to get the small kitten to let up. "Alright, alright..." he coaxed the imaginary kit, picking her up off of his shoulder and setting the little one on the grass. He turned his back around and saw George the mythical being walk in majestically. It made him smile. Has it been mentioned before Nate adores fantasy things? I think so. xD That was the thing he liked about dreams; he could do anything he wanted. He did like to throw himself into settings that involved life or death, intense chases, but he also loved the peaceful -- and even childish scenarios that one couldn't get away with in actual life. Though, honestly, chances were things like this did exist on that there island. you know what? fuck you all. he likes unicorns. they're manly. ask england. *shot* shaddup.

"This is much better, don't you think?" Nathaniel asked with a soft smile. He came up behind Melody and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her close to his body in a type of embrace. Normally, this would be kinda off -- maybe a little awkward thing to do, but hell... she was just a part of the dream, right? Not like she'd ever know.

The kitten padded over to the pool, until it noticed the beast. It's fur stood on end and it let out an adorable little hiss.
"I suppose." Was all she said, though she was awed by her surroundings. She couldn't help but wonder what was happening in Panem whenever they ran into the darkness. She could feel a calmer presence here, and knew it was only her Nate, Frosty, and George, what she had decided to name the creatures.
She didn't realize he had came over until Dream Nathaniel surprised her and embraced her. "Gaah! The hell, Nate?" Melody kind of laughed, but without thinking tugged away a little. She hadn't expected him to do that, and shouldn't she be in control of everything?
Wait... Why did this dream feel so real? And why was it that Nate was even here? I mean, yeah, she had maybe had a dream or two about him, but- oh shut up. and the fangirls go wild but he had been different. Less real. She was confused, and the confusion grew more and more by the minute.

He laughed and let her escape partially, only guiding her body to spin around and face him. "Something wrong?" Nathaniel kept his hands on her waist, his golden eyes shining down at her. Melody hadn't expected him to do that, he hadn't very well expected her to pull away. He may or may not have possibly dreamed of her as well and was coming to the same issues as her; that control was slipping. Alright, maybe he did had to be a little more cautious with her as if in actuality. Perhaps it's a good thing the box stayed behind, in that case. *shot* "I'm sorry." He said quietly, his face soft, though he couldn't wipe that smile away.

Meanwhile, George was bending his neck over and sniffing at the oh-so fearsome kit; whinnying lightly to tease Frosty.

Melody frowned slightly in confusion, looking up. She couldn't help thinking that being this close was awesome and that her heart pattered a little... Shit, a lot. But something was off about all of this. And everything was more real. Did she wake up without knowing? Looking over at the unicorn, she crossed that idea out. "Everything's fine, except... I don't know. Something feels off. Like it's to... real..." She responded, shaking her head, elegantly curled hair falling over her shoulder.
"It's fine." She reassured with a smile, before reaching up on her toes and tentatively kissing his cheek. It's a dream, after all... right?

Beside them, George and Frosty continued to play. Pleased with George's response, Frosty strutted up to him and hopped to reach the creature, lightly pawing at his nose. She purred, smug.

Nathaniel couldn't help but ponder on her words, unable to help but agree, not like it was a bad thing -- oh god, no. An thought struck his mind, or more like a few memories. Before they had come to the school there were occasions when he and he brother would share dreams, almost always mistakenly; and they did feel nearly real, just like this. The two of them had always assumed it was a family thing, but ... could he be doing the same thing right now? "Melody," he had started and slipped on matrix glasses, "What if I told you...?" He didn't have the chance to finish, cut off from the shock, really. He felt his face burn as he took one and placed it on his cheek. Oh yeah, that was real. Good job, Mel. You broke him.

Nate smiled wider, but lost his focus on the dream beforehand. George and the pool disappeared and turned into something much more familiar to him, easier to work with. In the courtyard, under his favorite willow tree. "Wow." he said. If it were simply a dream, most likely he would have taken it a great deal better, but that sudden realization didn't help matters. D;

Frosty was still with them, because she's just to adorable to leave behind.

Melody's eyes widened as she looked around. The pool and the forest vanished, and instead replaced with the courtyard. Where was George? ;_; She spotted Frosty, who fell on her butt and looked around for her friend, confused and sad. Frosty;; Wwwwwaaah? :'O
She turned to face Nathaniel and smiled, before listening. "Tell me what?" She asked quietly, slipping down on the tree. Her dress thinned out and grew shorter. It turned a crimson color that matched her eyes and made them pop. Her dress had less fluff, and draped down with elegance to just above her knees.

Nathan caught himself entranced by her new outfit for a moment. Ahem -- girl's got style. "Well," He started again, looking for something to keep him busy. He's eyes landed on Frosty. Nate picked up the small kitten and held her in his arms before turning his attention back to Melody. "What if I told you that... this is really me?" He asked a little slowly, wondering how she'd take it, or if she'd even believe him.

What is this, the Matrix- Ohshet.
Melody, who did in fact believe him, slowly raised her hands to her temples and began to rhythmically rub, to ward off an oncoming headache. It all made sense- the feeling of reality, the lack of control, everything. It made sense that this was really Nate. But that meant...
"Nathaniel Wright, what the hell are you doing in my dream?" She asked in a measured tone, her eyes shut tightly. Oh my God, and she kissed him! Anger flared in her heart as she frowned.

Meanwhile, Frosty let out a surprised mewl before purring and rubbing against the young man's arms. She closed her eyes and kneading his stomach, unaware of the drama going on around her.

Nate took off his hypothetical matrix glasses and awkwardly focused on Frosty, "I think I'm in a little trouble." he whispered to the kitten. His powers didn't work near as well as they did in actuality, but maybe the whole rubbing of the temples, the harsh tone, etc. ... It might have given off a small vibe of anger for him to pick up on. He wondered if he mentioned that in the morning he'd have a massive hangover-type headache, that'd help take off a bit of the pressure? As long as he's suffering, right? ;w;
The young man raised one hand, as if it'd help imply his innocence. The hell if he knew! "I don't know! It happens to me and Josh sometimes, though... I thought you were a part of my dream up until..." He paused, a suddenly smug, victorious look growing on his face. Yeah, you know, Mel... >u>

Frosty just squirmed around and let out a mrrw of discomfort, as if sensing the tension in the dream. She then decided it didn't matter and bit at Nathan's fingers.
"So you can dreamscape?" She asked in an even tone, showing none of her pissed off and embarrassed emotions. Until, of course...
She blushed a deep crimson to match her outfit, and clouds gathered over them. "Shut up Nate. Just shut up." She snapped in a bitter tone. I kissed him, I kissed him, I kissed him... She repeated in agony over and over again in her mind. Then again, it wasn't like she regretted it....

Frosty's ears folded back as the clouds showed up. She squirmed around in his arms and hissed slightly at the sky.

Nathan let out a small 'ow' sound as Frosty bit down on his finger, not expecting that. "I guess if you want to call it that." he shrugged. He never thought about it too much; spiritual mumbo-jumbo stuff he figured was more trouble than it was worth to dig into. He glanced up at the sky, seeing dark clouds starting to roll in and frowning. ohjeebus, it's gonna start raining skittles. He didn't want to press anything else to hard and instead pet Frosty on the head before decided to finally say something again. "We can just kinda forget about that, if you'd like." Nate said gently, "This could be fun. We're in a dream. We can do anything." It's not like they'd remember all to much when they woke up anyways. if you know wut i meen.

Melody sighed, and opened her eyes to peer up at the blackening sky. "No, it's fine... I kinda don't want to forget it." Better for him to know she liked him, than to go on like nothing ever happened. "So- so we're in a dream, and anything can happen that we want?" She asked, before answering her own question. She shut her eyes and blinked them open to see a beach. They sat on the sand and the water and sky were both an unnatural shade of pink and yellow. The wind blew, and oddly colored clouds circled above, in hues of the rainbow. "I wonder..." And then it began to rain- Skittles.

He looked at her with warm eyes, "I see." he said, complimented in a strange sort of way. So then, maybe, their feelings were mutual? Shifting Frosty around in his arms, he nodded to her question, even if she didn't need the answer. While she closed her eyes, Nate noticed the entire scene wash away into darkness and was a little surprised at the loose warmth under his feet. "Huh, never been at the beach before." he smiled. This must have been pulled from some of Melody's loose memories.
Nathaniel sat down. "Nice choice." He said and let Frosty down, noting how it was a little strange to be wearing an outfit such as his at the -- oh, it changed; into black trunks. Um, yeah. That'd do it. xD He rubbed his bare arms and watched the small kitten in amusement as it tracked down a small crab.

"Ow!" He complained as a few skittles landed on his head, wishing for a umbrella to cover them; and sticking out of the sand opened, there it was. Nathan watched as the skittles colored the sea and sand rainbows. He picked a couple up and tossed them in his mouth. "You've got good taste." Haha, literally. geddit? derp.

Melody raised an eyebrow. "Really?" She asked, thoroughly surprised. She'd have expect Nate to be more of the beach kinda person...
She had been, multiple times with her friends and family, before things were complicated like now... But she didn't think of that. Dreams- especially Dreamscaped ones, where suppose to be happy.
She looked down and saw she was clad in a black and white polka dot bikini. How vintage. She thought.

Frosty ninja'd after the crab, her eyes trailed on the poor little creature. She froze as it moved, and then she pounced, grabbing it with her claws. The crab pinched the kits nose, and Frosty yowled in surprise before running back to Nate. She jumped in his lap and looked around, scanning to see if she was safe.

Melody cried out a little and laughed, before looking up and catching a handful of Skittles, which miraculously missed her face. She scooted under the umbrella and tossed the candy into her mouth, grinning. "Thanks, I try." She said after chewing them.

"Yeah." Nathaniel sighed, staring out into the water. "We never really had the time, and my step-mom was strictly a city person." He shrugged it off and smiled, starting to dig his feet into the sand. "This is awesome, though." he said, turning back to look at her. Oh sweet baby jesus, it was like the nurse outfit again, only just a little worse. He covered his mouth again, trying to keep his cool, but blushing anyways. He cursed in his mind, wondering why the hell it was so much more difficult to control his emotions here. He wanted to be cool and suave. It wasn't working. D; "You look good." Nate coughed out, looking at Frosty curiously before the small kit rushed up to him.

"Oh, poor thing." he laughed, poking her nose and wishing the pain away. She was so adorable~. He wondered for a moment how Frosty avoided the skittles; glancing over and watching Melody scoot in. "So, um --" Nate started, clearing his throat. "What's the funnest thing to do at the beach?" he asked brightly.

Melody frowned, and looked at him. "I'm sorry to hear that." She murmured, honestly feeling bad for him. I mean, the beach was almost a part of her life. She had come here so many times with her parents in the summer, and had so many good times here.
"My God, do I see Nathaniel Wright blushing?" She said with a laugh and mock surprise, hiding her own blush. "Well, thank you." She responded with a slight smile.

Frosty purred, and rubbed up against his finger, the pain literally vanishing, along with the red mark to prove it.

Melody looked at the sky, lost in thought. "Well, there's alway's swimming, and building sand castles. Flying kites, looking for sea shells, chasing the birds, wake boarding, anything you could think of- it's a dream, after all." She stated with a grin. The Skittles slowly ceased to fall.

Nate shook his head again, "Don't worry about it." He set Frosty down on the sand and pulled a small bowl of tuna seemingly out of the thin air for the small kitten, now hopefully no crabs would walk by. He rolled his eyes, "Perhaps." Nathan coughed again, not like there was anything wrong with him though. "It really should be the other way around, right? I'm curious... How red could a Miss Melody Delangelo turn?" He smiled and got on his knees, leaning over to her. He lifted her face gently to hers by setting his fingers gently under her chin. As she had done to him before, with a soft smile he lightly kissed her on the cheek before he drawing back, gazing into her eyes for any sign of reaction.

Nathaniel stood back up and offered his hand to her, "Alright then, swimming or wake-boarding?" The later, chances were he'd totally make a fool out of himself, but whatever.
